Zoya Mirajwala
Director of Operations: 2023-2024
President: 2025 -
Zoya Mirajwala joined The Malaikah Foundation in September 2023 as Director of Operations and, just over a year later, became President. In her role, Zoya leads the foundation’s domestic initiatives, ensuring that children with disabilities, orphans, and other vulnerable communities receive essential support and care. Her passion for advocacy is deeply personal—growing up, Zoya recognized the stark contrast in resources available for individuals with special needs and orphans in Pakistan compared to the United States. This realization fuels her commitment to expanding Malaikah’s reach, turning her vision of inclusion and empowerment into a reality.
For Zoya, The Malaikah Foundation is more than an organization—it’s a tribute to her parents, Moiza and Salman Mirajwala. Her father’s older sister, Saiqa, who had Down syndrome, was the heart of their family and the reason Zoya is so dedicated to this cause. Witnessing her father’s unwavering care for Saiqa gave her a profound understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and their loved ones. But Zoya’s ultimate inspiration comes from her best friend, her mother, who never gave her any idea that she couldn’t do whatever she wanted to do, or be whomever she wanted to be.
Zoya’s commitment to The Malaikah Foundation is her way of honoring her father’s devotion to his late sister and carrying forward the values her mother has instilled in her. She works tirelessly to expand the foundation’s respite care programs and support services for orphans, hoping to uplift as many lives as possible. Her mother’s influence is the reason she proudly wears a hijab, and every day, Zoya aspires to be more like her. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to embody the same strength, kindness, and dedication that her mother has always shown.
